Apache Break Tribute Pack – Free DNB Sample Pack [Free Download]

Looking for a free Apache Break Drum & Bass Sample Pack with a wild, raw energy that’s shaped entire eras of Jungle and breakbeat culture? This one’s for you.

Few breaks carry the weight and history of the Apache Break. Sampled from the track Apache” by The Incredible Bongo Band (1973), this groove exploded through early Hip-Hop, Breakbeat, and Jungle—and it’s still going strong in DNB today.

It's wild, syncopated, almost unpredictable. But in the best way. The Apache break isn’t neat and tidy—it’s a percussive storm. For DNB producers who want something less clinical and more vibe-driven, this break brings serious energy to your kit.

So we went ahead and did what we do: sampled the original vinyl recording, restored and processed it, and wrapped it up into a free Drum & Bass sample pack—just for you.

What’s Inside the Apache Break Tribute Pack?

  • 56 Drum Loop Samples in total (43.1MB)

  • Original Apache Break Sample: Taken directly from the vinyl pressing of “Apache” by The Incredible Bongo Band—cleaned and restored for high fidelity use.

  • Processed Versions at 174BPM: Includes four unique edits of the break, each with both high and low tone variations. Fortified versions feature added drums, FX, and restorative work for tighter modern usability.

  • All WAV, 24-bit, 44.1kHz, and royalty-free.

This break doesn’t just slap—it gallops. It swings wildly, almost unpredictably, and that’s part of the magic. Drop it raw for old-school jungle energy or use one of the fortified versions for a punchier, polished sound that cuts through your mix.

The Legacy of the Apache Break

Back in the early days of Hip-Hop, breakdancers called this “the national anthem of Hip-Hop”. But Jungle producers in the ‘90s took that same break, cranked the tempo, chopped it to bits, and used it to create total dancefloor destruction.

It’s been used by the likes of Goldie, Remarc, Source Direct—you name it. If you want to tap into that wild, choppy chaos and gritty character, this break has you covered. Nothing sterile. Nothing fake. Just pure groove energy from the analog age.

How to Use the Apache Break in Your Tracks

The raw version is full of transient magic, perfect for slicing and rearranging in your DAW. The fortified versions, on the other hand, are ready to roll. We added extra drum hits, beefed up the kick and snare, and ran them through gentle saturation for weight.

Use it as your main break, blend it under tighter digital drums, or chop it to bits for your own original phrases. Apache always hits—just differently every time.

More Breaks? Yeah, We Got You

If you’ve been collecting these, you know the deal. If not—time to catch up.

More are coming—some famous, some slept on. But all restored with care, crafted with modern production in mind, and shared with the community. For free.
