  • Since the 90’s the Reese Bass has been a classic sound of Drum & Bass. It is considered the bedrock of its bass sound design and synthesis. The iconic Record Label Metalheadz has long adopted it into its characteristic sound and so was a natural source of inspiration for this product.

You will be surprised by how many forms the Reese Bass can take. Although this product features 300 unique sounds, it has only scratched the surface of what is possible with the popular synthesis technique.

The bass sounds featured in this product were made using Xfer Serum, many of which feature in Cyclone Serum Presets.

Expect to find powerful and outrageous Reese Bass Samples and Loops primed and ready to be dragged into your projects. If you are a fan of distorted and heavy sounds, you are going to love Cyclone.

Where did the Reese Bass come from?

The first Reese Bass was created by an early Detroit Techno Producer named Kevin Saunderson working under his alias ‘Reese’ in 1988. Kevin released a Dark and Moody house track titled “Just Want Another Chance”, in which his bass leads the groove of the track.

Despite its genius, the sound didn’t lift off at first. This didn’t happen until Ray Keith (working under his alias Renegade) sampled the Reese record in the early ’90s for the jungle classic, “Terrorist”. The sample was a perfect fit for the emerging sound of Drum & Bass in the UK and Producers latched onto it. From there it went on to cement itself as a key Bass Synthesis technique in Drum & Bass, growing in complexity over the years and blooming into the art form it is today.
